Victor Lindelof is not in Manchester United’s starting eleven to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this evening.
In fact, the Swedish international did not travel with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad at all. It has been confirmed by Manchester Evening News journalist Samuel Luckhurst that the central defender has been ruled out with illness.
Solskjaer has still opted for a five-at-the-back formation, as he did when the Reds secured victory in the Carabao Cup at Stamford Bridge earlier this season.
We do not yet know the full extent of Lindelof’s illness and hope he returns to action soon with games coming thick and fast.

Eric Bailly, making his first start of the season, and Luke Shaw join captain Harry Maguire at centre-back, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Brandon Williams operating in the full-back roles.
Meanwhile, Bruno Fernandes makes his second United appearance in a midfield three with Nemanja Matic and Fred.
Daniel James and Anthony Martial start as split-strikers and the Reds have some attacking threat on the bench with Mason Greenwood and new signing Odion Ighalo.
