Ole Gunnar Solskjaer exchanged words with Tranmere Rovers’ goalkeeper Scott Davies after watching his Manchester United side put six past him without reply at Prenton Park.
Davies is a Manchester City supporter and before the fourth-round clash he did an interview talking about the game’s additional importance because he was coming up against a club he openly dislikes.
He told The Telegraph: “They always looked down on Manchester City but now it has turned around quickly. If my football club can have another influence on them having another bad day, then great.
“I was at the 6-1 and there were 40,000 empty seats. It was a great day for me and my old man, who has been going for 30 years and is a huge supporter. There is a big hatred for United in the family but on Sunday it will be professional.”
Not sure about how ‘professional’ he felt after letting six goals in, and one from a penalty he gave away!

Solskjaer met with Davies in the tunnel after the match and told him his pre-match comments spurred the Red Devils on.
“Thanks for firing up the fans and the players,” Solskjaer told Davies, as per The Independent.
A beautiful bit of ruthlessness from Solskjaer, but it’s a shame he is not in a position to be cocky or as bullish when playing teams in the Premier League.
Davies didn’t respond.
What really matters now is getting United back. That will take time because it’s incredible difficult to compete at the top while the Glazers are in charge.
There’s still no doubting who is the biggest club in Manchester, and Davies will be aware of that if if he argues otherwise. The tables may have turned a bit, but not forever.
