Goal scorers Harry Maguire and Jesse Lingard have reacted to Manchester United’s emphatic FA Cup victory over Tranmere at Prenton Park.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side confirmed their place in Monday’s fifth round draw with a 6-0 drubbing of the League One outfit.
Captain Maguire was arguably United’s best player, scoring with a wonderful strike to give the Reds the lead in what was his first United goal.
There were six different goal scorers for the Reds this afternoon, with Anthony Martial, Mason Greenwood, Diogo Dalot and Phil Jones also finding the net.
Maguire admitted conditions were tough on a horrendous playing surface at Prenton Park but said he was pleased with the efforts this afternoon.
This was a much needed confidence booster ahead of the daunting task faced at the Etihad for the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg on Wednesday.
