Manchester United emphatically swept aside Tranmere at Prenton Park to ensure their name is in the hat for tomorrow’s FA Cup fifth round draw.
Tranmere started the better in the first few minutes, but once Harry Maguire’s wonder strike had given the Reds the lead, the result was a formality.
We saw goals from six separate starters for United this afternoon as Diogo Dalot, Jesse Lingard, Phil Jones, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood netted in a completely dominant performance.
There had been some concerns before kick over how a horrendous pitch would affect a depleted Man United side low on confidence.

But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer named a strong line-up that delivered an efficient and disciplined performance against the League One outfit.
After racing into a 5-0 lead after a rampant first-half, United unsurprisingly took their foot off the pedal in the second period ahead of Wednesday’s Carabao Cup second leg against Manchester City at the Etihad.
The emphatic scoreline did not stop United fans singing about the main problems at the club, however.
Vociferous chants were heard about Ed Woodward and the Glazers throughout the 90 minutes.

FT: Tranmere 0-6 United. A very strong United side take apart Tranmere – 6 goals and 6 different goal scorers. (Maguire, Dalot, Jones, Martial, Lingard, Greenwood) see United into the next round of The FA Cup. Fair play to the home fans for their support 👏

MUFC through to the 5th round…with the FA working out a way to draw them against Wolves at Molineux.

Look, yes its Tranmere, they're atrocious. Think of a bad team, then think worse than that. They've been terrible.
But when was the last time United scored 5 in a game? Cardiff, Ole's 1st game. Last time United scored 5 in a half? Talking years and years.
Just enjoy a bit.

I don’t think people understand the audacity Mason has. He’s left footed and takes his pens with his right. Completely disrespecting goal keepers 🤣🔥👌🏾 #mufc

Interesting week ahead for us. Carabao Cup is gone but if the board actually help Ole and results go our way at the weekend we could be 3 points off the top 4. #MUFC
