Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been dealt a massive blow with Marcus Rashford set to miss up to three months (via NBC Sports) with a double stress fracture keeping the forward out of action.
The Manchester United manager admitted that he might look to the transfer market for short-term options to cover for Rashford’s absence, as per inews.
Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo has said Edinson Cavani has handed in a transfer request — which should have Man Utd thinking of a move.
Cavani’s contract expires at the end of the season but the Uruguayan is pushing for a move in January.

Atletico Madrid have made a proposal to sign Cavani, but Leonardo says their offer was rejected.
Speaking after PSG’s French Cup win at Lorient, Leonardo said (via Sky Sports): “We’ve always said the same thing. We were hoping he would stay with the club, but today (Sunday) he asked to leave.
“We’re studying the situation. We’ve had a proposal from Atletico Madrid, but that proposal was not commensurate with the player’s value.”
The former Napoli striker sounds persuaded by Atletico where he is bound to score of goals.
That’s what United need now — with or without Rashford.
Although Cavani is 32, turning a year older in February, he’s a proven goalscorer in Italy as well as France.
Those leagues might not be as good as the Premier League, which could take toll on a player arriving on the wrong side of 30, but he looks like the best option available right now.
In 293 appearances for PSG, Cavani has scored 198 goals. He scored 104 goals during his time at Napoli.
This could have a Zlatan Ibrahimovic esque impact on United. It’s exactly what we need!
