(Video) Bruno Fernandes likened to Frank Lampard as he closes in on Man Utd transfer

Former Liverpool and Everton player Don Hutchinson believes Bruno Fernandes would be a ‘sensational’ signing for Manchester United.

The Reds seem to be moving ever closer in finally securing a deal to sign the Sporting Lisbon captain this month.

According to James Ducker of the Telegraph, personal terms have been agreed with Fernandes and a move rests on whether the two clubs can agree a fee.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs midfield reinforcements this month and Fernandes is exactly the type of player United should be signing.

Despite playing in the Portuguese league, Fernandes goal contribution record simply cannot be ignored.

He scored 32 goals in all competitions last season and already has seven goals and eight assists in the Primera Liga in this campaign.

Hutchinson compared Fernandes to Chelsea legend turned manager Frank Lampard, who was also a prolific goalscoring midfielder.
