Impressive stat shows United have better defensive record when Brandon Williams plays

Brandon Williams was brilliant again tonight.

The young left-back clashed with Wolves star Pedro Neto as tensions boiled at Old Trafford.

Although Williams is new to the first team, he’s without doubt Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s best option at left-back — over Luke Shaw and Ashley Young.

A brilliant stat has emerged thanks to Statman Dave, highlighting the difference Williams has made at the back this season — during a time United’s defence has been subject to lots of criticism.

United have kept six clean sheets in Williams’ last seven games.

That’s quite a feat and Solskjaer deserves credit for bringing another promising player from the youth ranks into the first team.

With Liverpool coming up on Sunday it is time to ask whether Williams will start the game.

We certainly think he should as Solskjaer doesn’t have a better left-back in the squad and this is the biggest game of the season.

If you’re good enough, you’re old enough.
