According to a report from GOAL.com, Manchester United could reignite their chase of Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes this month.
The 25-year-old has emerged as one of Portuguese football’s most promising players over the last couple of seasons and has been linked with a number of big clubs around Europe.
He’s an attacking midfielder with a keen eye for goal.
For instance, last season he recorded a spectacular 32 goals and 18 assists.

Man City were first rumoured to have been on the verge of getting a deal done for the midfielder, before Man Utd, Liverpool and Tottenham were all touted as potential destinations. The saga became a circus in the summer with a number of fake reports suggesting Fernandes was boarding flights to Manchester.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs an attack-minded midfielder, amid Jesse Lingard’s struggles and Juan Mata no longer being the player he once was…
As per GOAL’s report:
“United are yet to make any contact with Sporting regarding a potential transfer, but there would be no difficulty from United’s end in raising the funds required to sign the 25-year-old should Solskjaer make it clear that he needs to be acquired in January.”
