Manchester United midfielder Ethan Hamilton has returned early from his season-long loan spell at Southend.
As reported by Manchester Evening News, the League One club came to a mutual agreement with the Reds to cut his loan short, and he is expected to join another Football League club in this transfer window.
Hamilton has not featured for Southend since December 7 and will leave Sol Campbell’s side, who are currently languishing second from bottom.

The 21-year-old has never made a competitive appearance for United, but featured briefly in the first-team in the summer tour of the United States in 2018 when Jose Mourinho was manager.
We wish Hamilton luck in the next move he is expected to make in this transfer window.
Meanwhile, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer desperately needs reinforcements in the midfield area with his best two players in the position Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba both facing lengthy setbacks.
Whilst there is an acknowledgement that it is difficult for deals to be completed in January, United are now desperately lacking in midfield and Solskjaer needs to be backed by the board this month to acquire signings he wants.
