Man Utd target £50m-valued Premier League striker following Haaland transfer blow

This one stinks of a classic ‘Manchester United linked with any in-form Premier League player’.

According to The Sun, Dominic Calvert-Lewin could now be on the club’s radar after they missed out on Erling Haaland as he opted to join Borussia Dortmund over the weekend.

Man Utd left themselves light over the summer after allowing both Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez leave without finding a replacement for either.

However, you could say United are better off with Daniel James and Mason Greenwood than Sanchez, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer lost a proper goalscorer when Lukaku moved on to pastures new.

It won’t be cheap to sign Calvert-Lewin, though.

The 22-year-old is said to be valued at around £50m.

The Everton star has been in good form so far this season after bagging 10 goals in 22 games across all competitions.

Newly appointed manager Carlo Ancelotti will do his utmost to convince Calvert-Lewin to stay but that’s going to be a very difficult task if United come knocking.

The Sun suggest he could now become the main transfer target for the Red Devils next summer.
