Paul Pogba misses training ahead of big Arsenal clash

According to the official Manchester United website, Paul Pogba was absent from training this morning.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have started preparations for Wednesday night’s away trip to Arsenal and it doesn’t sound like Pogba will be travelling with the squad.

Man Utd have a hectic period ahead of them that will see them play three games in just six days and it starts on New Years Day.

Pogba recently returned from an injury that kept him out for almost three months. He featured in two games against Watford and Newcastle — but missed the 2-0 win over Burnley on Saturday.

The official website states that the France international ‘rested’ for the game at Turf Moor which suggests that Solskjaer is trying to ease him back to full fitness.

United’s statement also reveals that those absent from training this morning aren’t ‘unavailable for action’, so he could feature against the Gunners.

There is some good news, though. Eric Bailly has returned to first team training so we should see him take to the field again in the new year.

A third successive win in the Premier League would keep United in the hunt for a top-four finish.

Chelsea, currently in fourth, are four points clear of the Red Devils.
