Report: Real Madrid won’t make approach to sign Pogba in January

Paul Pogba has reportedly been dealt a blow in his efforts to leave Manchester United.

The French midfielder has never played down speculation regarding a potential switch to Real Madrid, though his agent Mino Raiola gave an exclusive interest to the Telegraph’s Jason Burt this week revealing that Pogba wants to stay at Man Utd.

While the 26-year-old remains at Old Trafford, it has recently been suggested that he could move to pastures new in January.

However, according to Marca, Real Madrid have informed Pogba that they will not be making an approach to sign him next month.

There is also a fresh report in the Daily Mail stating that United will reject any and all approaches when the transfer window reopens.

The rise of Federico Valverde apparently changed their mind about wanting Pogba but that could change between now and the end of the season.

Pogba has long been linked with a move to Madrid with his compatriot Zinedine Zidane said to be a big admirer of his ability.

The France international’s contract at United expires in June 2021 and with less than two years remaining, we will soon enter a critical stage…

With or without Pogba, United need to strengthen in midfield over the next two transfer windows. He is without question or best player but has hardly featured this season due to injury.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could do with Pogba back as soon as possible if the Red Devils are to mount a proper challenge to get back into the top-four.
