Jamie Carragher provided his analysis on Manchester United’s stunning victory over Manchester City at the Etihad on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football.
The former Liverpool defender, accompanied in the MNF studio by Rafa Benitez, lauded United’s performance, describing it as the best 30 minutes he has seen anyone play against City in the last three years under Pep Guardiola.
High praise indeed from Carragher, who witnessed a devastating United counter-attacking performance, including an utterly brilliant first-half hour.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men were rampant in the first-half, breaking quickly with Daniel James, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial causing problems for a City defence that simply had no answers.

Goals from Rashford and Martial were enough to seal the second win of the week after beating Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham on Wednesday.
Whilst United fans shouldn’t get overly carried away, there is now cause for optimism ahead of a busy winter period.
The week was seen as defining for Solskjaer as United manager, but two huge victories have alleviated the growing pressure on his job. It’s crucial the Reds build on the impressive wins in upcoming games against Everton, Newcastle and Watford.
