Dimitar Berbatov states his prediction for Sheffield United vs Manchester United

Former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov doesn’t fancy our chances against Sheffield United later today.

The Bulgarian is backing the newly promoted Premier League side to hold United to a draw at Bramall Lane.

“What the **** are Sheffield United doing in fifth place in the Premier League, can someone explain that to me,” Berbatov told Betfair (via the Metro), prior to this weekend’s fixtures (Sheffield United start Sunday’s game in 8th ahead of Tottenham).

“Joking aside, they are playing some really good football, their 3-5-2 formation is slick, going to give at the back when someone is attacking them is so effective, they are a solid team and for me they are one of the surprises of the season.

“Of course I want United to win, but sometimes you have to look at things from the perspective of how things are, it will be a tough game and I think both teams will get a point.”

The Red Devils have won two of their last three Premier League games and are currently 10th in the Premier League. However, a win today would take Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men to 5th — overtaking the likes of Arsenal and Wolves.

While there has been an upturn in results and performances, Solskjaer’s side still don’t have a good record when it comes to playing away from home. They lost 1-0 to Bournemouth in their last away Premier League fixture.

Sheffield United will be looking to win three consecutive top-flight home fixtures for the first time since August 1993, but hopefully the Reds can build on the momentum they showed prior to the international break.

We are looking to win back-to-back games in the league for the first time since March.
