Laird started the match alongside fellow United player James Garner, who enjoyed some first-team minutes under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in recent weeks.
The 18-year-old has been impressing for Neil Wood’s United u23 side so far this season and will be continuing to push for a place in the first-team squad.
England eventually ran out 4-1 winners in the game thanks to goals from Laird, Tino Anjorin, Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Anthony Gordon.
