Andreas Pereira has given Manchester United the lead with a deflected left-footed effort against Brighton at Old Trafford.
The Brazilian attacking midfielder’s selection was questioned by many fans after a poor recent performance against Bournemouth, but the goal will no doubt boost Pereira’s confidence.
Following some good build up play from Anthony Martial, Pereira’s shot took a huge deflection off Brighton defender Dale Stephens and wrong footed a helpless Matt Ryan.
It’s a deserved lead for the Reds who have looked promising going forward in the early stages.
Marcus Rashford had almost just given United the lead with a fine piece of individual play; the England international cut in from the left hand side, took on three Brighton players but had his shot saved by Ryan.
