Wan-Bissaka reveals Man Utd star who has helped him settle in at Old Trafford

Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s start has been one of the positives this season as a Manchester United fan.

The full-back has been one of the standout performers in a mixed start for the Reds, with a win, draw and defeat in the opening three league games.

The 21-year-old came with high expectations on his shoulders after his £50m transfer (BBC) from Crystal Palace, but already looks assured defensively and has made several of his trademark lunging tackles, making him an early fan favourite at Old Trafford.

And Wan-Bissaka has credited United midfielder Paul Pogba for his advice when he first arrived.

“The older players help me a lot. Paul Pogba has advised me a lot. That first game in Perth, he was telling me the same thing everyone has: you’re here for a reason, play your game, play without fear, get up and down – that’s what I put into my head.” Wan-Bissaka told ManUtd.com.

It’s early days for the youngster at United but it looks like he has already made the right-back position his own under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

We can’t expect Wan-Bissaka to deliver great performances every week as he is still developing, but it’s been an encouraging start.

Wan-Bissaka still has to work on his game going forward to contribute to United attacks and be considered a complete full-back.

United will be hoping to get back to winning ways on Saturday, as the Reds face Southampton at St Mary’s in the early kick-off.
