Report: Man Utd target Sancho signs new contract with Borussia Dortmund, doubles salary to £80,000 p/w

Jadon Sancho has reportedly doubled his salary at Borussia Dortmund by signing a new contract.

German newspaper Bild claim Sancho has gone from earning £40,000-per-week onto £80,000-per-week.

However, this new deal, like his previous deal, is due to expire in 2022.

There’s no word on a release clause but the Bundesliga outfit are likely to include something to ensure they’re paid a premium if the England starlet leaves before the expiration date.

The Daily Mail ran a story last week suggesting that Sancho will leave Dortmund next summer with BVB already searching for a replacement. Additional information from the same report claims Manchester United are most advanced in their pursuit with a long-standing interest in the winger.

It is noted that the Red Devils will revisit their interested in the former Manchester City youth player next summer.

A report from CIES Football Observatory released on Friday values Sancho at £145m (via Daily Mail), which would make him the most expensive player to sign for United should a deal materialise.

Our guess is a lot hangs on United qualifying for the Champions League next season.

It’s a good opportunity for Sancho to return home and to a bigger club, but he wants to be playing in Europe’s biggest competition. United couldn’t deliver on that front this season after finishing sixth in the Premier League.

The Daily Star previously reported that PSG would target Sancho if they lose Neymar to Barcelona before the European transfer window shuts.
