Rio Ferdinand was in Harry Maguire’s shoes once upon of time. You will remember the horrible white suit he wore for his unveiling photos at Old Trafford, not that we’ll ever let that one down.
Maguire didn’t quite show up like a member of a boyband when signing for United, but Ferdinand has written a post about the latest United signing on his official Instagram, outlining what is demanded from a defender at our club.
It’s a huge jump in the right direction for Maguire but he must continue to make strides by bettering all aspects of his game.

Ferdinand is without question the best defender I’ve seen play for United, so this is welcome advice for Maguire who will undoubtedly take note.
United must defend better if they’re to progress this coming season. Three signings have arrived thus far — Daniel James, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Maguire — which should make us a better team.
