Harry Maguire pushing for Man Utd transfer, frustrated by Leicester City’s stance & demands

It sounds like Harry Maguire is becoming impatient by Leicester City’s reluctance to permit a proposed transfer to Manchester United.

There are more reports in the press that Maguire has decided in his own mind that he wants to join the Red Devils this summer.

According to Kaveh Solhekol on the Transfer Talk podcast on Sky Sports, Maguire has made it clear he wants to leave the Foxes for the 20-times champions of England.

The reporter explains on the podcast that Maguire is annoyed by his club’s stance and feels their asking price is too high.

At least he’s honest…

However, the transfer saga is dragging on longer than he needs to, with the new Premier League season just around the corner.

Like with United’s situation with Paul Pogba this summer, Leicester don’t need to feel forced to sell Maguire this summer. They’re perfectly in the right to demand a transfer fee and to reject anything below that.

Is Maguire angered by Leicester or his agent for convincing him to agree to fresh terms for a better contract last summer? Perhaps that was his decision.

But United will soon need to make a decision on whether they’ll need to pursue alternative options to Maguire because Ole Gunnar Solskjaer cannot start the season with a new centre-back joining the squad, though there should still be opportunities for Axel Tuanzebe throughout the campaign.

We conceded 54 goals in the Premier League last season and finished sixth, so there’s no denying United need to strengthen in defence!
