Solskjaer writes ‘love letter’ to Perth ahead of Man Utd’s second pre-season friendly

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has written a love letter to Perth for page 3 of Wednesday’s edition of The West Australian.

In a lovely gesture to the locals of Perth, the Manchester United manager stated he will be ‘sorry’ to leave the city on Thursday, when the club’s pre-season tour moves on to Singapore.

Solskjaer has complimented the people of Perth for their warm welcome as well as the fact he and all of the players have been enjoying the glorious weather, which you’d suspect is usually the case in the Australian city.

The boss goes on to compliment the training facilities at the world-famous WACA Ground, and ends his love letter with the following: “Your hospitality has been magnificent and we are all very grateful. Thank you.”

Neil Sherwin, a freelance football writer based in Perth, brought the letter to our attention on Twitter:

A nice touch and it’s great to hear all of the lads enjoyed the first leg of their pre-season tour.

It wouldn’t surprise us if they returned to Perth in the coming years.
