Man Utd ‘to launch £50m bid’ for Fernandes; club confident deal will be completed

Manchester United are reportedly set to offer £50m for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes.

This comes from Miguel Delaney of the Independent, who claims the Red are finally set to make a concrete offer for the 24-year-old just three week before the transfer window shuts.

The report claims that Sporting have already rejected approaches for Fernandes from United, but the Reds are confident they can make a deal happen.

Fernandes is said to be keen on a move to Old Trafford this summer, and has been identified by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as a player to help solve the current creative issues in the side.

Moreover, the report claims that Fernandes’ reported move to United does not have any correlation with the uncertain future of French midfielder Paul Pogba.

Solskjaer needs to bolster his midfield options this summer following recent departures of Ander Herrera and Maraoune Fellaini, and Fernandes is being targeted whether or not Pogba leaves during this transfer window.

Fernandes would be a fanastic addition for the Reds and it is encouraging news that the Reds look finally set to make a formal offer for the player.

The Portuguese international scored 32 goals in 50 games last term for Sporting and is exactly what Solskjaer needs in midfield.
