It remains to be seen the extent of Shaw’s injury, but as BBC journalist Simon Stone tweeted below, it looks like the Englishman has picked up a hamstring problem.

This is concerning news for Solskjaer for a player to pick up a muscle injury in just the first game of the tour. Hopefully Shaw’s injury is not too serious and he will be ready for some of United’s upcoming friendlies before the Reds take on Chelsea at Old Trafford in the first game of the Premier League season on August 11th.

Meanwhile, United strolled to victory at the Optus stadium, thanks to goals from academy graduates Marcus Rashford and James Garner.

Up next for Solskjaer’s side is Leeds United at the same venue on Wednesday.
