De Ligt’s girlfriend spotted house hunting ahead of transfer

Mathjis De Ligt has been a player heavily linked with Man Utd all summer.

The Ajax captain was exceptional in his side’s run to the Champions League final last season, and the Dutchman is set to leave this summer to seek a new challenge.

De Ligt is highly regarded as having potential to be one of the best defenders in the world, attracting interest from top European clubs including Real Madrid, PSG and Barcelona.

The latest news regarding De Ligt is that his girlfriend has been spotted house hunting … in Paris.

This is according to Dutch newspaper  de Telegraaf, as cited by Talksport. The report suggests De Ligt’s girlfriend Annekee Molenaar has left their holiday in the Bahamas early to house hunt in Paris with her mother.

It would appear then that De Ligt may have chosen PSG as his destination for next season. The French champions would no doubt have offered the Dutch defender huge money to join the club, but there is no confirmation that a deal between Ajax and PSG has been agreed.

De Ligt was always going to be a transfer United would struggle with; surely the Reds have already sounded out potential alternatives. United must strengthen in central defence this summer and cannot go into next season again relying on the likes of Chris Smalling and Phil Jones.
