£75-rated Man Utd star wants future solved before pre-season tour

Romelu Lukaku hopes to complete a move to Inter Milan before Manchester United’s pre-season tour starts on 13 July, according to reports.

Gazzetta dello Sport (H/t Sempre Inter) reports Lukaku has decided already to join the Nerezzurri by agreeing on personal terms, which would see him eventually work under Antonio Conte, who he previously stated was the best manager in the world.

A strange claim to make about a manager he never worked under, and one José Mourinho probably took issue with…

The Express also claim Lukaku will join Inter for a fee worth £75m – the same cost it took United to prize him away from Everton two years ago.

The 26-year-old striker apparently told club officials before flying off to America on holiday that he wanted his future resolved before 13 June, when United jet off to Australia.

I can understand Lukaku wanted his transfer sorted as soon as possible. He needs to work on his shape, meet his new teammates, and settle in a new city.

But why does that sit with United? If Inter make an offer United can’t refuse, Lukaku knows it will happen much quicker. Why should we worry about him and his future when we’ve enough on our plate as it is?

The Red Devils take on Inter in the International Champions Cup on 20 July and Lukaku seemingly wants to be togging out in a black-and-blue strip instead.

That’s fine. We shouldn’t lose sleep over it.
