It sounds like Manchester United have been dealt a transfer blow in any pursuit of Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly.
Italian newspaper Il Mattinho claims Liverpool are thinking about making an official bid for the Senegalese defender, and will hope his international team-mate Sadio Mane has a word to convince him towards Anfield.
The report adds that it may take a bid in the region of €120m to persuade Napoli into selling the world-class defender.

It’s a frightening prospect with Liverpool potentially lining up with Koulibaly alongside Virgil van Dijk next season. There will be calls for the best defence in Europe if Jurgen Klopp lands the incredible centre-back.
But these are still early days and we don’t really know what to believe.
I expected more talk of movement surrounding Koulibaly this summer. It’s been quite, especially on the United front, with the Red Devils now heavily linked with Leicester City defender Harry Maguire, as reported by the Daily Star
Perhaps now that Liverpool are being linked with making an official bid, it might spur United on to get more business done and directly beneath their nose.
Victor Lindelof is likely to partner whoever United bring in. The Swede had a decent season last term, but will be looking to make a greater step forward when everyone returns after pre-season.
Whoever it is, it doesn’t take much to be better than some of the defenders under contract at the club.
