Spanish football expert Gulliem Balague has posted a number of updates on Atletico Madrid midfielder Rodri on Tuesday morning.
Not everything he says happens, but Balague still holds a strong place among journalists and that’s why his blurbs are noteworthy.

The 22-year-old defensive midfielder joined Atelti last summer from fellow La Liga outfit Villarreal. It goes to show what a different a year can make now that Rodri is attracting interest from the biggest clubs the world has to offer.
According to Marca, Rodri has told his current employers he will be leaving and Transfermarkt claim he has a transfer valuation worth €80m.
Balague claims there’s a three-way battle for the midfielder’s signature – including City, Bayern and Manchester United.
Yet the Red Devils are unlikely to sign Rodri. Partly because “analysis suggest (that Rodri is a) bit slow in reaction and awareness.”
As expected Rodri will leave AtM -wanted by City, Bayern and even United, the first two favourite. They will get a Busquets type (exceptional defensive positioning, good delivery of ball) but not yet at his level. Just a year after signing for Diego Simeone’s side, it strikes me as odd that he would want to jump ship so soon. Who knows, we could see him at Old Trafford next season – as an opponent rather than one of our own.
