Juventus step up Paul Pogba pursuit with formal offer set to be tabled

Juventus are reportedly in the process of tabling an opening offer of £125m for the signature of Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

According to The Mirror, Juventus are keen on bringing Pogba back to Italy this summer, but there is plenty of evidence to suggest United don’t want to sell their most valued asset.

Speculation on a possible move to Real Madrid has done the rounds all season, and it was a difficult campaign for Pogba after winning the World Cup with France. United were dreadful, José Mourinho got the sack and was replaced by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Goal recently reported that Juve have already stepped up their pursuit with the club’s sporting director Fabio Paratici meeting with United officials in London.

It is also claimed that the Serie A champions’ opening offer should be in the region of €130m-140m — and that they expect stiff competition from Real Madrid.

From a negotiations point of view, Pogba’s controversial comments over the weekend only weakens United’s stance, though they might stick to their word and refuse to budge regardless of what’s being offered.

“Like you said, there is a lot of talking and a lot of thinking as well,” Pogba said, as quoted by The Metro.

“For me I have been for three years in Manchester and have been doing great; some good moments and some bad moments, like everybody. Like everywhere else.

“After everything that happened this season, with my season being my best as well… I think for me it could be a good time to have a new challenge somewhere else.

“I am thinking of this: to have a new challenge somewhere else.”

That was pretty disrespect from Pogba.
