The Daily Record ran a story on Monday with claims that Manchester United were already in contact with the representatives of Leicester City’s playmaker James Maddison. It is thought that the Foxes value their man at around £60m, while he is said to seek assurances about game time under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as well as his so-called reservations about Champions League football.
Maybe we’re missing something but I don’t recall watching a game in the Champions League featuring Maddison, so what are his apparent reservations over? He won’t be any quicker getting into Europe’s most prestigious tournament playing at the King Power Stadium.

I took a quick look through YouTube this morning to see what I could gather on Maddison. Obviously, I’d seen him last season in glimpses and he looks alright, but this step up will be massive.
The 8-minute video below shows some of Maddison’s best parts in a highlight reel.
From creating attacks in deep positions, exploiting holes in the opposition’s defence and being the ultimate servant to Jamie Vardy, you can see some of the traits in Maddison that would appeal to a manager like Solskjaer.
