Marcus Rashford gives verdict on Champions League final between Tottenham and Liverpool

It wasn’t easy watching the build-up to last season’s Champions League final and it won’t be any easier this year. Not for any Manchester United fan.

In fact, I think this year will be worse because the Scousers have a greater chance of being crowned European champions. Jurgen Klopp knows his side is better than Spurs, but at the same time it’s not as if Mauricho Pochettino’s men are facing a team they’re unfamiliar with from another country.

Both teams will be aware of one another’s strong points and weaknesses. It then comes down to the managers and players canceling each other out.

Spoken like a true United fan, Rashford gave his verdict on the Champions League when asked on talkSPORT who he wants to win the final.

“I hope Tottenham win it,” said Rashford, as quoted by Manchester Evening News.

“I hope Tottenham win but both teams have done remarkably well, so whichever team wins it they deserve it.”

I think that’s the response most of us would give if asked on radio.

Spurs had a tough route to the final but there is uncertainty over whether Harry Kane will start after recovering from an ankle injury. The England striker only returned to training with his teammates so no decision has been made as of yet.

Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson has been talking up Kane’s influence fit or unfit, as per Sky Sports.

It would be a nice ending to the season if Liverpool messed things up. Their fans were so confident about ending the 29-year wait for a league title this year but fell short with Manchester City winning the Premier League for a second consecutive season.
