Solskjaer names 3 players to miss Watford clash

Alexis Sanchez, Matteo Darmian and Antonio Valencia all remain unavailable this weekend as Manchester United host Watford at Old Trafford.

In a briefing with the official Manchester United website, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer suggested that one or two other players will undergo late fitness tests ahead of the match.

“We’ve had a very good training week,” Ole said. “Some have been away and have come back okay. Alexis has just come back and there is only him who is out, along with Matteo and Antonio. Those three are out. We’ll have to check on one or two of the others.”

We have reason to believe Marcus Rashford could be one to miss Saturday’s game, although Romelu Lukaku is another doubt after missing the international break with a foot injury.

Anthony Martial was called up to the France squad but like the other two, he missed out on representing his country to focus on recovering from a knock.

A collision with an Ivory Coast teammate saw Eric Bailly substituted and he wasn’t involved in their following game against Liberia.

Jesse Lingard may be another candidate for a late fitness test.
