French wonderkid rejects Barcelona and PSG to join Manchester United

Back in November 2018, L’Equipe ran a report claiming Manchester United had reached an agreement to sign 16-year-old attacker Noam Emeran from French side Amiens.

The youngster jumped to Instagram last week to announce he had signed for United, so credit to L’Equipe for running that story first and accurately.

Emeran signed a three-and-a-half year deal at Old Trafford after raising his stakes with Ligue 1 side Aimens at youth level.

“An attacking player with a good left foot,” says Aimens U19 head coach Antoine Buron, as quoted by the Standard after giving an interview to Le Parisien.

“Manchester has been more convincing than PSG and Barcelona.”

The youngster has already been in touch with Manchester United all-time top scorer, Wayne Rooney, and the advice from a footballing great clearly struck a chord.

“He [Rooney] told me: A players good or bad choices in his career based on his determination. I realised that I had to be demanding of myself.”

With Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba flourishing in the first-team under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, there will be chances for Emeran to meet his heroes at United.

United also recently signed French starlet Aliou Traore which suggests they are keeping a close eye on the French market. That makes sense considering they’re world champions and achieved that feat with such a young squad.

We’re looking forward to seeing Emeran in action at youth level and hopefully he can kick on one day and become a member of the first-team.
