Napoli star Kalidou Koulibaly is reportedly ‘eager’ to move to the Premier League with Manchester United ready to make a move for the world-class defender.
United are expected to dip into the transfer market this summer to bolster their defender which has come under fierce criticism this season. Only Victor Lindelof has done enough at centre-back to warrant a starting place beyond this season.
Despite former manager José Mourinho stressing he wanted a new centre-back, Ed Woodward failed to deliver a single signing to fit that profile, and that has led to calls for a director of football to manage transfer dealings.

But United’s defence has seen greater fortune since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer came in as caretaker manager. David de Gea is back keeping clean but teams still appear to fancy their dances up against his back four.
According to the Evening Standard, Koulibaly wants to move to the Premier League.
The Napoli centre-back would be a major improvement on every defender currently at the club, but there will be hope he can strike a formidable partnership with Lindelof should a deal materialise.
Koulibaly is strong, quick, alert at all times and very good with the ball at his feet. This signing could go a long way towards making United title challengers when you see the difference Virgil van Dijk has made since joining Liverpool a year ago.
ESPN ran a story at the beginning of January suggesting United were prepared to wait until the summer to sign the Senegal international because Napoli were unwilling to allow their best defender leave the club.
