The best news Manchester United fans will get on Deadline Day has arrived with Anthony Martial signing a new five-year deal.
In the summer it looked unlikely that Martial would have a future at Old Trafford after former manager José Mourinho considered selling the France international, as reported by the Guardian.
Fans are delighted with the news that United’s future will involve Martial, one of the best young attacking players in European football.

Sky Sports claim Martial will now earn a whopping £250,000-a-week at United with his new deal, but that is the price you pay for premium talent. The club makes enough money to fund big deals so next in line must be David de Gea.
The Spain no.1 has 18-months left on his contract and The Mirror believe he will sit down and talk with the club once the season concludes.
Stretty News sources understand United have every reason to be relaxed about De Gea’s contract situation.
But today is about Martial. Here’s how Reds reacted to the news on social media and, as you will be able to tell, everyone is buzzing.

If the previous manager had his way – he’d have had Martial & Pogba sold. He even convinced fans they weren’t good enough cos they didn’t show McTominay and Fellaini passion. LOL

United dispensing with one player, Marouane Fellaini, who does not suit the club’s traditional style of play and tying down another, Anthony Martial, who embodies it. Significant shift since summer when things were very different. #mufc

Anthony Martial renewing his contract until 2024 and selling Marouane Fellaini for €12m feels like a successful January. Some good business.

Anthony Martial’s new contract is done. Five years. Announcement expected today or tomorrow. A victory for United to tie down a player who was not happy over the summer.
