Perisic dreams of playing in the Premier League, adding fuel to Man Utd speculation

Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic admits playing in the Premier League would be a ‘dream’.

The Croatian winger is in England for tonight’s Champions League clash with Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley, and he spoke to the media on Tuesday.

Perisic was closely linked with a move to Manchester United after an impressive World Cup that saw Croatia reach the final, as per The Express.

However, the Daily Star believes Jose Mourinho remains eager to bring the 29-year-old to Old Trafford.

But is there any need to sign another left-sided winger? Not when Anthony Martial is hitting form, and we really should be looking to get the most out of his development rather than put it under more threat by signing Perisic, a year after bringing in Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal.

It would be a similar situation, though Mourinho will surely expect Perisic to have more of an impact on the pitch than Sanchez has since last January.

Speaking to the press, Perisic said, as per The Mirror: “I have always said that [playing in the Premier League] is my dream.

“In football everything is possible, we will see in the future. Now, I’m focusing on Inter.”

We can’t help but laugh when a footballer makes a statement like this, before saying they’re busy focusing on their current club…

If Perisic was so focused, a move to the Premier League wouldn’t cross his mind, though I guess it is hard to resist United’s interest.

The Daily Star also states that Mourinho may be offered Perisic and his Inter teammate Milan Skriniar if United are willing to cash in on Paul Pogba to give the Frenchman a route back to Serie A.

Skriniar would certainly help improve United’s defence.

You can keep an eye on both Inter players tonight, with Spurs hosting the Italian giants in a must-win game at 8pm on BT Sport 3.
