Man City vs Man Utd: Derby preview, odds, live stream & TV info

It goes without saying that Manchester City go into Sunday’s derby as favourites.

They’re the champions and it looks like they are strong enough to defend the Premier League title this season.

According to Oddschecker, City are 2/5 to win on Sunday, while Manchester United are priced at a tempting 8/1. Our bet of the game is for Nemanja Matic to be shown a card, which is currently 19/10 with BetVictor.

The contrast is real when looking at the form between these sides, though United have improved in recent weeks. The Blues have won their last six games across all competitions and are unbeaten since September. United have won three games in a row for the first time this season, with the last coming away to Juventus in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.

You will be able to watch the match live on Sky Sports or use their Sky Go streaming service.

United will set out to nullify City, similar to how they approached the match against Juve, but even more emphasis will be on our defensive shape. Pep Guardiola’s side will dominate possession and wait patiently for gaps to appear, so each and every United player will need to be disciplined throughout.

The Reds don’t offer much in terms of creativity, but there is enough athleticism and power in the side to hurt any team in the Premier League. Mourinho must find a way to counter City’s intricate passing.

There is a chance Mourinho will have Romelu Lukaku available for the first time in two weeks, with the boss telling MUTV his return is a possibility. The Belgium international has not been performing brilliantly all season, but a muscle injury in training two weeks ago saw him rule out for both 2-1 wins over Bournemouth and Juventus.

And, for the first time this season United finally have a bit of momentum behind them. There’s every chance the lads could make this week even better by stuffing City on Sunday.

Prediction: Manchester City 1-1 Manchester United
