Attacking duo available for Man Utd’s trip to Bournemouth

Alexis Sanchez and Jesse Lingard are both back in contention to feature for Manchester United in time for Saturday’s game away to Bournemouth.

Sanchez missed the last two previous games with an injury and during that period speculation grew about a future move to Paris Saint-Germain, as per The Sun.

The Chile international has struggled at United since his January arrival and he’s going to find it difficult to nudge Anthony Martial out of the team, with the Frenchman hitting top form whilst Sanchez was absent.

However, Romelu Lukaku is struggling for confidence and was dropped to the bench in United’s Premier League win over Everton last time out. There’s a chance Sanchez returning could see him take up the centre-forward role against The Cherries with Marcus Rashford and Martial playing at either side.

James Robson from the Standard alluded to this following Jose Mourinho’s press conference on Friday.

When asked which players are available to take on Bournemouth, Mourinho told the media, according to Manchester Evening News: “Antonio Valencia watched something funny in his Instagram where he says work work, work in the gym, he should say work, work, work alone because I am injured and cannot train with the team, he couldn’t train with the team so I think it looked like he was working really really hard and he was but without the ball and without the team so tomorrow you can imagine he is not selected because he is not ready.

“Apart from Antonio Fellaini and Dalot, Jesse and Alexis in a much better position because last week was an effort for them to be available for the team but now is a diff story and Alexis and Lingard after one good week they are ready to play.”

It remains to be seen whether Lingard is in with any chance of playing, though the only player I could imagine him replacing from recent line-ups is Juan Mata.

But we’re a more creative looking side with Mata in the team. I guess it’s good that the manager has options to select from…

Antonio Valencia, Diogo Dalot and Marouane Fellaini are out of tomorrow’s game.
