(Video) MUFC loanee scores screamer to end goal drought

An absolute corker by James Wilson after going four games without scoring for Scottish side Aberdeen.

His loan club manager, Derek McInnes, was delighted with Wilson after Aberdeen’s 3-0 over Hamilton Acadmical by claiming it “shows the level the boy can play at,” as per the BBC.

The SPL is obviously a much lower level than the Premier League, but if Wilson can build a career at Aberdeen or elsewhere, it still ought be considered a success story.

Wilson, who was handed his first-team debut at Manchester United in 2014 under Ryan Giggs, as per The Guardian, has been unlucky with injuries and niggles in recent years.

Struggling for match sharpness definitely contributed to frustrating loan spells with Brighton, Derby County and Sheffield United but, hopefully, this is the start of something for Wilson at Aberdeen.

Everyone at United will want to see him do well – whether it’s with us or another club. We’ve produced some fine footballers that were unable to make the highest grade, and there’s nothing shameful about that.

Watch his long-range screamer below. Take a bow, lad!
