The SPL is obviously a much lower level than the Premier League, but if Wilson can build a career at Aberdeen or elsewhere, it still ought be considered a success story.
Wilson, who was handed his first-team debut at Manchester United in 2014 under Ryan Giggs, as per The Guardian, has been unlucky with injuries and niggles in recent years.
Struggling for match sharpness definitely contributed to frustrating loan spells with Brighton, Derby County and Sheffield United but, hopefully, this is the start of something for Wilson at Aberdeen.
