Revealed: Mourinho’s ideal transfer target sends shockwaves at Chelsea

Jose Mourinho has reportedly revealed that if ‘money was no object’ he would love to sign Eden Hazard from Chelsea.

The pair worked together at Chelsea between 2013-2015, as the Blues won the Premier League title for the fourth time in their history.

It was stated at the time that Mourinho was finally managing to get the best out of Hazard as he finally realised his potential as one of the best players in England, but their relationship worsened at the start of the 2015-16 season. A bad year for Chelsea and Mourinho.

Their defence of the Premier League title was a meek one and it ultimately cost Mourinho his job.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Hazard admitted that he was partly at fault for the club’s failure that season, though it’s no secret that Mourinho lost his way and the dressing room.

MEN journalist Samuel Luckhurst also states that the 55-year-old feels the same, as he has reportedly named the Belgian as his ideal transfer target for United.

The Chelsea star has been heavily linked with a move for Real Madrid in recent months as Mourinho has been mentioned as a possible candidate to replace Julen Lopetegui at the Santiago Bernabeu following a difficult start to the season.

This could also be an attempt to unsettle a player, clearly in two minds about staying at Chelsea and becoming a legend or moving to a bigger club like Real Madrid, who are interested in bringing him to Spain.

However, there is nothing to suggest from Mourinho’s end that a return to Madrid is on the cards. He knows his job at Old Trafford is far from finished and if results don’t improve, he could face the sack.

Hazard has been fantastic so far this season and he will face off against Mourinho on Saturday as United travel to Stamford Bridge for the early kick-off.
