Jose Mourinho will reportedly take scouting matters into his own hands to run the rule over two potential transfer targets.
The Reds have had a difficult start to the season with our inconsistency in the Premier League leaving us languishing in eight-place after as many games.

This poor form has left our rivals run away with what they believe – at the beginning of October – is a title race. The amount of teams competing is likely to be less when the race really gets going…
In order to rectify those problems, The Sun, citing reports from Telegraf, claim that Mourinho has set his sights on two transfer targets and will go to scout Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic and Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic this week when Serbia face Montenegro on Thursday.
It was suggested this past summer that the latter is valued at around £90 million alone, and so coupled with Milenkovic’s likely hefty price-tag given his impressive displays for the Viola, it will cost United well over £100 million to sign the pair if they prove themselves to Mourinho.
Milenkovic, 20, has yet to miss a minute of action for Fiorentina in Serie A this season, therefore, he immediately outshines Phil Jones. While also scoring two goals in eight games, the defender has proven he’s got an eye for goal too.
It is no secret that Mourinho has been desperate to bolster his defence since the summer, as picked up on by The Independent, Milenkovic could ultimately emerge as a potential solution.
As for Milinkovic-Savic, United fans will be well aware of the Lazio star, who spent all of the past summer linked with being Paul Pogba’s replacement. Last season he scored 14 goals and provided nine assists in 48 appearances across all competitions.
Time will tell if Mourinho is convinced by either of these players. The game kicks off at 19:45.
