Barcelona are reportedly ready to sell Ivan Rakitic next summer in a bid to make room for the transfer of Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba, or two other targets.
According to Don Balon, the Catalan giants looked close to letting Rakitic move to Paris Saint-Germain this year, but their asking price of €100 million put off the Ligue 1 giants, while it is suggested other big names at the Nou Camp did not want to see the Croatia international sold.
Another year of Rakitic could be a sensible strategy by Barcelona before getting rid and bringing in a youngster midfield player, with Pogba among three big-name targets for the La Liga champions.

The Spanish outlet also list PSG’s Adrien Rabiot and Ajax starlet Frankie De Jong as options in the middle of the park.
As discussed on last week’s podcast, United fans are becoming increasingly tired of Pogba’s displays of late. He is looking like a player who no longer wants to be at the club, therefore, selling the Frenchman next summer would not be as much a blow as initially feared.
However, despite having a penalty saved by Joe Hart, Pogba put in a much better shift at the weekend when United got back to winning ways with a 2-0 victory on the road against Burnley.
He seems to be on a different wavelength to manager Jose Mourinho, which has almost reached a boiling point in the past. Perhaps the 25-year-old doesn’t have the physicality or work rate for English football and both sides might do best by letting him go I the near future if there’s no sign of consistent improvement.
