Alexis Sanchez has been left out of the Chile national squad for their upcoming friendlies against Japan and South Korea.
Chile boss Reinaldo Rueda has decided to omit his star player for the two games, suggesting the trip would be ‘exhausting’ for Sanchez. Reuda claimed Man Utd need the player in what is a ‘difficult moment’ for the club.
Sanchez, 29, will avoid excessive travelling with Chile’s matches in Sapporo against Japan and Seoul against South Korea just four days later.

Having made 121 appearances for Chile, Sanchez is the country’s top goalscorer with 39 goals. He has also led them to back to back Copa America titles in 2015 and 2016.
Sanchez missed United’s 3-2 defeat at Brighton last Sunday through injury and featuring briefly in United’s crushing 3-0 defeat to Spurs, so United’s number 7 will be looking to build up match sharpness again after a slow start to the season.
United face Burnley on Sunday and Sanchez will be hoping to deliver in order to ease some pressure on manager Jose Mourinho who has come under fire after two consecutive defeats. He is likely to start at Turf Moor in a different formation to what was seen in Monday’s defeat at Old Trafford.
