BREAKING: Andreas Pereira called up to Brazil national team

Following a number of terrific displays on pre-season tour for Manchester United, Andreas Pereira has been called up to the Brazil national team.

Pereira returned to United this summer after a season-long loan at La Liga outfit Valencia and is now considered a key member of Jose Mourinho’s side.

The Belgian born Brazil international started last Friday’s Premier League opening victory over Leicester City and now looks set to progress his career further in the famous yellow shirt.

Whether or not Pereira features week in week out for United, Mourinho will be able to call upon the 22-year-old midfielder whenever needed this season. The player lauded his manager for honesty this week in an interview with Sky Sports.

His versatile should allow Mourinho play Pereira in a number of different roles, such as a deep-lying midfielder or across all attacking positions, as seen throughout his three years in the United academy.

The future looks bright for Pereira after making a name for himself in a United shirt these past few months.

Belgium manager, Roberto Martinez, is unlikely to be happy about Pereira’s decision to play for Brazil but one could hardly blame the United star for wanting to represent the Seleção, who rely so heavily on Neymar to light up on the international stage.

New signing Fred also got a call-up.
