The capture of Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly turned Paul Pogba’s head, according to Tuttosport in Italy, as per 101 Great Goals.
Pogba signed for Manchester United for a then-world record fee of £89.3 million in 2016, but it appears the Old Lady’s acquisition of Ronaldo has tempted the Frenchman to make a shock return to Turin.
The 2018 World Cup winner has a history of returning to former clubs. If a deal goes through, it would be the second time he has returned to a former club in his career, at the age of just 25.
I know, that sounds like a tale from some teenage love film but it’s true.
Pogba has done well at United, although we, as fans, expect a little more next season if he remains at the club.
On his day, Pogba is the best midfielder in the world (I got shit for writing about that earlier this week) and I stand by that view. He can dictate play and create space in dangerous areas if allowed to roam further forward, with defence-splitting passes.
If he leaves United with unfinished business remaining, it will be one of the biggest wonders in United’s recent history because many of us thought his height and strength merged with his ability to drive forward should appeal to a manager like Jose Mourinho, who has yet to get the best out of the Frenchman.

Pogba has also been criticised for his attitude in the past, particularly from Graeme Souness, who appears obsessed at times, nit-picking at the player’s every move. The former Liverpool midfielder previously urged Didier Deschamps not to play Pogba at the World Cup because he can’t be trusted.
Thankfully, the France manager ignored the Scot and was rewarded when Les Bleus won the World Cup last weekend.
With the World Cup triumph under his belt and in the form of his life, the Reds will be hopeful of keeping their star man at the club. There are still issues between Mourinho and the player, but we remain optimistic that they’ll get sorted soon.
Do you think Pogba will return to Juve?
