Paul Pogba has joined a short list of Manchester United players to win the World Cup whilst under contract at the club.
The 25-year-old was terrific throughout the tournament this summer in Russia, acting as a driving force for the French in midfield and providing a creative spark for their forward players.
He bagged a goal in the win over Croatia as France became world champions.

France won 4-2 with Kylian Mbappe and Antoine Griezmann adding to the scoresheet, as well as Mario Mandzukic scoring an own goal to hand Les Bleus an early lead against the run of play.
However, as seen in the tweet below from OptaJoe, Pogba wrote his name into United history books as he became the first-ever player for the club to score in a World Cup final.
It’s a surprise that it took 21 World Cup finals for this to happen, but we’re happy because it should shut up a few of Pogba’s harsh critics.

United fans will be hoping Pogba can take his form from this summer’s World Cup into the upcoming season and become a true leader in Jose Mourinho’s team. That way, the former Juventus midfielder can truly establish himself as one of the top midfielders in world football.
Having finished the 2017-18 campaign without a piece of silverware, the pressure is on everybody at Old Trafford to get back to winning ways, and Pogba has shown he’s capable of influencing a group of players to reach new heights.
