Man Utd ready to table £30m-bid for centre-back with plenty experience

Jose Mourinho is reportedly lining up a £30 million move for Leonardo Bonucci as Manchester United look to take advantage of AC Milan’s financial troubles.

The Financial Fair Play abusers need to sell some star assets this summer after finishing sixth in the Serie A last season, while Juventus came out on top again.

According to the Daily Star, Milan have to raise approximately £45 million before the transfer window shuts. That has led to United boss Mourinho showing interest in Italy international Bonucci.

Having pursued Tottenham and Belgium centre-back, Toby Alderweireld, it’s clear that the Reds are in the transfer market for a top player for the heart of defence.

It comes as no surprise to hear Daniel Levy is proving difficult to deal with, therefore, Mourinho may well have to look elsewhere for a defensive addition.

The Daily Express claim that the former Inter Milan manager, who knows Bonucci from his time in Italy, intends to test the water with a £30 million bid.

The 31-year-old has been at the San Siro for one season after leaving Juventus last summer.

It would be an incredible bit of business if United could sign Bonucci for £30 million.
