Manchester United representatives have reportedly met with Lazio chiefs to discuss a transfer swoop for midfield star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
The Serbia international is one of the most sought-after players at the moment after impressing in Serie A in recent times. He also made three appearances at this summer’s World Cup before the Serbs were knocked out at the group stages.
Still only 23, Milinkovic-Savic looks to have the world at his feet and a host of top clubs are being linked, including United, as Lazio slap a huge asking price on his head.

This is according to Il Messaggero, translated by talkSPORT, who list the Reds, Real Madrid and Juventus as being in for the player, who will cost around £130 million.
United should be able to pay that amount but it would take a large chunk out of the transfer kitty, meaning Jose Mourinho will need to tighten up in other departments. The report mentions the Reds and Madrid have held talks over signing the player this summer.
A signing of this sort makes sense for Mourinho after losing Michael Carrick to retirement. Milinkovic-Savic could add a great deal to the team.
