Bizarre report suggests Man Utd will hijack Juventus’ mega money move for Ronaldo

Bizarre claims suggest Manchester United may still be in the running to seal the transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo despite growing speculation the Real Madrid is set to join Juventus.

The Portugal international remains much loved by many United fans who still sing his name after a spell at Old Trafford between 2004 and 2009, and it would no doubt be great to see him in the Premier League again before he retires.

The latest from Sport, citing reports from Italian TV, is that Juventus officials are set to jet to the Spanish capital tonight in the hope of finalising a deal for the world’s best footballer, with the aim to officially present him to their fans on Saturday.

However, Don Balon claim there could be a twist in the saga with United doing their bit to hijack the deal with a £79 million offer through the player’s agent Jorge Mendes.

That’s a good deal for a player of Ronaldo’s level, even if he is 33-years-old, but I don’t believe the report for one minute. It seems to be an annual event that United get linked with the romantic return of Ronaldo.

Moreover, it’s just too good to be true.
