Manchester United are hoping to capitalise on their rival’s misfortune this summer by signing Lyon talisman Nabil Fekir, according to reports in France.
The 24-year-old was tipped to join Liverpool before the World Cup, but the Merseyside club attempted to play hardball with the Ligue 1 outfit when negotiations were almost complete, causing Les Gones to pull out of the deal.
It very much left egg on Liverpool’s face.

Now, United will apparently look to get one over the Scousers by bringing Fekir to Old Trafford. Lyon based daily newspaper Le Progres claims that the Reds have already launched an offer for the France international this summer.
French journalist Romain Collet-Gaudin has also claimed that the interest could result in Liverpool upping their previous bid for the player.
United have been kept busy this summer with two signings already wrapped up. Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred joined for around £52 million and FC Porto youngster Diogo Dalot signed as backup to Antonio Valencia at right-back.
Could Fekir be next?
It looks like our pursuit to sign Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has concluded and maybe the Lyon playmaker could be seen as an alternative.
